Stralsund é uma cidade hanseática pertencente à Terra de Mecklemburgo-Pomerânia Ocidental , na costa norte da Alemanha . Localizado no Mar Báltico ou melhor, o Strelasund , separados pela ilha de Rügen do continente. Uma ponte (o Rügendamm ) e vários ferries conectar Stralsund com os portos de Rügen. Tinha cerca de 57.357 habitantes em 2012.

História

A cidade foi fundada no século XIII por colonos eslavos de Rügen . Durante os anos seguintes comerciantes alemães chegaram e a cidade começou a prosperar. Isso desagradou a poderosa cidade de Lübeck , que queimou Stralsund em 1249 . Foi mais tarde reconstruído e cercado por uma parede sólida com 11 portas e 30 torres de vigia.

Em 1293 , Stralsund tornou-se membro da Liga Hanseática e, assim, Lübeck aliado; 300 barcos iria navegar no Báltico carregando a bandeira de Stralsund, no século XIV. A rivalidade entre a Liga Hanseática e o Reino da Dinamarca levou a abrir a guerra que terminou com o Tratado de Stralsund em 1370.

Quando as potências aliadas dividiu a Alemanha após o fim da Segunda Guerra Mundial , Stralsund estava dentro da República Democrática Alemã (RDA).

Com a queda do Muro de Berlim em 1989 e reunificação alemã, a cidade entrou para a RFA e da União Europeia.

Junto com a cidade de Wismar foi declarada Patrimônio da Humanidade pela Unesco em 2002 , o grupo chamado de Centros Históricos de Stralsund e Wismar , Abril justificada porque Wismar e Stralsund eram os líderes dos centros de seção véndica da Liga Hanseática do século XIII a XV e os principais centros administrativos e de defesa no reino sueco do XVII e XVIII .

Contribuíram para o desenvolvimento e difusão de construção técnica em tijolo e tipos de construção, características das cidades hanseática na região do Báltico , e no desenvolvimento de sistemas de defesa no período sueco.

Além disso, Stralsund e Wismar têm importância crucial no desenvolvimento de técnicas de construção e urbanismo que se tornou típico das cidades comerciais hanseática, bem documentados na principal igreja paroquial, o Salão de Stralsund e tipos de edifícios comerciais como Dielenhaus.

Igreja Nicolas – Igreja de São Nicolau ( 1276 ), a mais antiga de Stralsund.
Marienkirche – Igreja de Santa Maria ( 1416 ), o maior templo.
Jakobikirche – Igreja de St. Jacob ( 1303 ), destruiu várias vezes (uma pelo general Wallenstein e novamente durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial ).
