O que são mecanismos de feedback?

Um mecanismo de feedback é um processo que usa as condições de um componente para regular a função do outro. Isso é feito para aumentar ou atenuar a mudança no sistema.

Existem fatores internos e externos que afetam os mecanismos fisiológicos de feedback do corpo, essenciais para que o corpo permaneça estável e mantenha um equilíbrio. Quando o processo tende a aumentar a mudança no sistema, o mecanismo é conhecido como feedback positivo.

O feedback negativo é quando o processo procura contrariar a mudança e manter o equilíbrio, ou seja, o mecanismo de feedback positivo aumenta o estímulo original e o mecanismo de feedback negativo o inibem.

Mecanismo de Feedback Negativo

Os receptores (células sensoriais) presentes no corpo dos vertebrados monitoram constantemente o ponto de referência do ambiente interno. Quaisquer alterações no ambiente interno podem ativar as células receptoras, que transmitem mensagens para o centro de controle (cérebro ou medula espinhal).

O centro de controle determina o desvio e ativa os efetores. Efetores são geralmente músculos ou glândulas. Os efetores respondem ao estímulo e corrigem o ponto de referência aumentando ou diminuindo as atividades. Assim que o sistema é corrigido, o centro de controle e os efetores são desligados pelo mecanismo chamado de feedback negativo.

No mecanismo de feedback negativo, as mudanças que ocorrem no sistema ativam automaticamente o mecanismo corretivo, que inverte as mudanças e traz de volta o sistema ao normal. O feedback negativo é mais comum em sistemas biológicos, por exemplo: fazer exercício cria calor metabólico que eleva a temperatura central do corpo e, em seguida, devido a mecanismos de resfriamento, como a vermelhidão da pele ou sudorese a temperatura diminui.

Mecanismos de Feedback Positivo

É exatamente o oposto de um mecanismo de feedback negativo. Com feedback negativo, a saída reduz o efeito original do estímulo. Em um sistema de feedback positivo, a saída aumenta o estímulo original. Um bom exemplo de um sistema de feedback positivo é o nascimento da criança.

Durante o trabalho de parto, um hormônio chamado oxitocina é liberado que se intensifica e acelera as contrações. O aumento das contrações faz com que mais oxitocina seja liberada e o ciclo continua até que o bebê nasça. O nascimento termina a liberação de ocitocina e termina o mecanismo de feedback positivo.

Outro bom exemplo de um mecanismo de feedback positivo é a coagulação do sangue. Uma vez que um vaso é danificado, as plaquetas começam a se agarrar ao local danificado e liberam substâncias químicas que atraem mais plaquetas. As plaquetas continuam a se acumular e liberar produtos químicos até que um coágulo seja formado.
